SI Lions Maven Predictions: Giants-Lions
Saquon Barkley busts out his first 100-yard game on the ground since Week 2, but the Giants fall short due to the ineffectiveness of Jones and the passing game. Lions are victorious at home. Lions 28, Giants 14
The Giants are not a very good football team. They have a few talented players, but don't have any significant strengths.
The Lions should be able to move the ball well through the air. On defense, the Lions will need to figure out how to stop Barkley. If they can accomplish that, it's a game the Lions shouldn't lose. Lions 27 Giants 20.
Lions get back on track with a win over the Giants.
Matthew Stafford and the receiving core take advantage of a questionable Giants defense.
Saquon Barkley might rush for 200 yards (I'm kidding, but he might gain 165 yards) and Daniel Jones will throw for two touchdowns against a Lions secondary that is without cornerback Darius Slay.
This is a close one. Lions 27 Giants 24
I’m drinking the Kool-Aid again this week.
I don’t know why I’m all in on the Lions again this week. They lost Kerryon Johnson and will feature a rushing attack by committee led by rookie Ty Johnson. Can he handle the workload?
The Lions defense can’t stop the run and Saquon Barkley is in town. If you don’t know, he’s a talented football player that can take over a game.
The locker room is a little dysfunctional right now after Quandre Diggs underperformed and was traded for underperforming. That dysfunction will distract this team on Sunday.
Pressure is what Matt Patricia feels and not the opposing quarterbacks. I believe this week will be different because Patricia will blitz the rookie quarterback causing him to misfire. The defense should create turnovers in this contest. Lions 21 Giants 17
Quite the week for the Lions and not for the best of reasons.
The Lions will be looking to end a three-game losing streak and this game can be reasonably viewed as a must-win.
Golden Tate is back in town. Look for him to be factor along with Saquon Barkley.
Daniel Jones should find it challenging dealing with the crowd at Ford Field and the Lions defense. Jones will struggle mightily and likely could throw 2-3 interceptions this week.
The Lions end the losing streak, convincingly. Lions 33 Giants 17
